7 Methodology The publication ‘Business Across Borders 2022’ is an initiative by Dun & Bradstreet to recognize the critical role played by exporters in India’s economy. The second edition of the publication provides listings of ~2000 exporters and profiles 500 leading export businesses across various sectors. Eligibility Criteria Indian businesses with a minimum export revenue of INR 5 crore during the financial year FY20 and whose export revenue contributed to a minimum of 10% of the company’s total revenue during FY20 were considered eligible for listing and profiling in the publication. Shortlisting Process: • Dun & Bradstreet has used the financial information available from secondary sources such as Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Exchange Websites, and other reliable Government websites. • Dun & Bradstreet has also reached out to exporters across the country through multiple channels such as email campaigns, online medium, industry associations and councils, Dun & Bradstreet’s internal database, etc. • Through this process, we have sought financial details of exporters for the past 3 financial years through annual reports, audited statements, etc. • Dun & Bradstreet used a proprietary model (employing a combination of quantitative and qualitative parameters) to analyze the various details available and to shortlist the list of ‘profiled’ and ‘listed’ companies. The publication, ‘Business Across Borders’ profiles 500 leading exporters based on their performance in the past three financial years (i.e., FY20, FY19, and FY18). Profiles of these businesses comprise of their line of business and other basic information. These businesses are featured in a section titled “Profiled Exporters” . Profiled businesses have been further classified into large, mid-corporates and SME exporters based on their total revenue in FY20. A standardized format has been used for reporting information for profiled companies. Each company featured in the publication has been allotted a unique identification number (D-U-N-S ® - Data Universal Numbering System). This will help readers locate and obtain full-fledged information reports on these companies from the Dun & Bradstreet database.
