Managing Director Buildmet Fibres Private Limited is one of the leading suppliers of FIBC bags. How do you perceive your company’s journey since its inception in 1984? What have been your company’s major milestones in recent years? Buildmet Fibres was set up in 1984 as a PP Woven Sack manufacturer with a capacity of 40 MT catering to the Cement and Fertilizer industry. It underwent tumultuous situation during 1990 when the Mandatory Jute packaging order was passed by the Central Government prohibiting use of HDPE/PP Woven Sacks for packing. In 1991-92, we ventured into the unchartered Overseas territory and were successful in getting the export market for our products, which helped us sustain and grow the business to reach 100 MT per month by the year 1994. By 1994, another blow came in in the form of Anti-Dumping Duty imposed by European Union on PP Woven Sacks from India. This was a dampener for us. However, as a phoenix rising from the ashes, we ventured into the FIBC manufacturing. We were one of the first companies from India to manufacture FIBCs in 1995. We have successfully built capacity to manufacture and market our products to the tune of 1000 MT Exports per month.
