Among the broad-based indices at NSE, Nifty 500 index and Nifty 100 index declined by 27.6% and 25.9%, respectively in FY20. Similarly, the broad-based indices at BSE, viz., S&P BSE 500 and S&P BSE 100 index also dropped by 27.5% and 26.6% during the year. It is probably the best singlemeasure of valuations stand at any givenmoment. The BSE’smarket capitalisation to GDP ratio decreased to 55.7% in FY20 from 79.6% in FY19. Similarly, the NSE’s market capitalisation to GDP ratio also decreased to 55.2% in 2019-20 to 78.7% in 2018- 19.
