POWERGRID is engaged in bulk power transmission business at EHV (765/400kV) and (±500/800kV) HVDC voltage level and is implementing transmission systems for evacuation of power from the Central Sector Generation Projects, Ultra Mega Power Projects, Independent Power Producers (IPPs), Grid Strengthening Schemes and Green Energy Corridors (GEC) for integration of grid scale renewable energy sources and Ultra Mega Solar Parks. As on March 31, 2020, GoI holds 51.34% of the Company’s equity shares while the rest are held by public including foreign and domestic financial institutions. POWERGRID shares are listed on the national bourses, i.e. BSE & NSE, since October, 2007. As on Mar 31, 2020, POWERGRID owns and operates a network of 163,282 circuit km. of transmission lines, 248 substations and 409,898 MVA of transformation capacity. Business Operations POWERGRID is principally engaged in the planning, implementation, operation and maintenance of inter-state transmission system (ISTS).
