India’s TOP 500 Companies 2021
INDIA’S TOP 500 COMPANIES 2021 127 STL, an industry-leading integrator of digital networks, is connecting billions through its cutting-edge solutions. But our responsibility as a leading company in this space lies further than that. We believe there needs to be a robust social and environmental performance in everything we do. Therefore, we have Environmental, Social, and Governance priorities woven into our business strategy and across our value chain. The ESG agenda is driven by STL’s leadership across the spectrum. Aligning with UN Sustainable Development Goals STL does not want to create value from a fiscal viewpoint. We are committed to creating ‘shared value’ for our stakeholders through responsible corporate citizenship. We focus on technology, innovation and sustainability while carrying out our operations. We have aligned our operations and social impact programmes with 15 of the 17 United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals. Protecting the Environment “The Earth is what we all have in common.” Climatic and conservational issues are making headlines across the globe. To address these issues, STL is leveraging innovative ESG solutions to reduce its environmental footprint while ensuring sustainable development. Some of these measures are below: Zero Waste to Landfill: Four of our five manufacturing units in India are Zero Waste to Landfill certified by Intertek, a US Quality Assurance provider. STL aims to have all its plants across the globe certified in the coming few years. Sustainable sourcing: STL adheres to stringent international requirements while sourcing raw material from local and global suppliers. We also conduct supplier assessments and audits to ensure suppliers adhere to not just environmental parameters, but also to waste disposal, human rights, fair labour and anti-corruption. Water Positivity: We have taken massive efforts to drastically reduce waste by having extensive recycling programs. We recently collaborated with 2030 Water Resources Group to proactively work towards identifying innovative and tech-driven solutions to conserve water resources and promote water security in communities as well. Zero emissions: STL endeavours to achieve net zero emissions in the next few years. We have undertaken a carbon footprint study of 100% of our operations based on which a strategic plan and annual targets have been defined. Enabling inclusion through education The pandemic has forced millions of students to pursue education online. While students in urban areas have adapted to the new change, students in rural India have struggled. To help them, STL has designed an agile programme that focuses on providing quality online education in vernacular languages right from pre-school to standard ten. The programme also trains teachers and school management to leverage digital platforms for teaching. Building healthier communities Through its hybrid AI-telehealth- onsite program, STL is changing rural perceptions on using new-age healthcare options while providing marginalised communities with quality healthcare accessible, door-step testing and free medication. Empowering Women The Jeewan Jyoti Women Empowerment Programme has empowered women in rural India to become agents of change. The programme, through vocational training, entrepreneurship, financial literacy and market linkages is not only contributing to more working women but has also kindled their entrepreneurial spirit. STL is leading the ESG space by collaborating with leading organisations on several environmental, social and governance priorities. Our tremendous social sector leadership has helped us amplify our community outreach by touching 1.43+ million lives. STL: Making a difference beyond digital networks Dun & Bradstre t
