38 Overview of the scheme The e-Hospital initiative is a cloud-based Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) application developed by National Informatics Centre under theMinistry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) in June 2019. MeitY’s aims to promote e-Government, e-Industry, e-Innovation, e-Learning, e-Security, e-Inclusion and Internet Governance. e-Hospital is made available to Central Government/ State Government/ Autonomous/ Cooperative hospitals on cloud through SaaS (Software as a Service) model. Need of Initiative The e-Hospital application is developed for digitization of internal workflows and processes of hospitals. It was needed to bring patients, hospitals and doctors on a single digital platform. Further, a stop-solution like e-Hospital was needed to improve the delivery of healthcare services to the citizens across the country. Key Objective of e-Hospital The key objectives of e-Hospital are as below: To provide the e-Hospital, e-BloodBank and ORS applications to Government hospitals To build online patient portal for providing citizen centric services like online appointment booking, access to lab reports online and blood availability status To provide application related technical support to the hospitals through dedicated Call Centre/ Helpdesk Key Achievements of e-Hospital Under e-Hospital initiative, 10 modules are developed which include: Patient Registration: Used for patient registration in OPD & Casualty departments as well as to book, confirm and cancel appointments. Admission, Discharge &Transfer (IPD): Deals with the complete treatment and services provided to the patient during his stay in the hospital.
