Kindly elaborate on your company’s innovation initiatives. What kind of outcomes have these initiatives helped the company derive? We take pride in introducing many firsts in the Indian Brewing industry. To name a few, we had introduced Mash filter that resulted in improving the overall quality and efficiency of beer. Also, to reduce human intervention, we had introduced automated machine to form the four color wrap- around as a secondary packaging to safeguard the product during logistics and handling. This not only improved aesthetics of the box but also ensured that it reaches customer’s hands with zero pilferage. Recently, we have launched India’s first gender-neutral beer- TAG- that meets the palate requirements of both the genders resulting in immediate acceptance of the brand. How has the COVID-19 pandemic impacted business? What are the strategies that the company has deployed to tide over this crisis? Covid-19 has impacted every business and we are no different. During lockdowns, all outlets were closed to ensure adequate time for preparation, social distancing and saving people’s lives. Government of India has done fantastic job in achieving the same and today, we see that despite we have the 2nd largest population mortality rate is very low. However, the business took the hit for a quarter. Post selective opening up of the outlets, we have partnered the local administration to ensure that social distancing norms are followed for smooth functioning of the business. We had placed floor stickers for placing outside outlets to maintain distance and provided sanitizers through our sister concerns Perfunova International Limited and Hariraj Cosmetics so that the same can be distributed to the outlets and population at large while sensitizing them for maintaining hygiene at all times. We value our employees and therefore, we are amongst very few companies in India who did not venture out on lay-offs despite impact on cash flow. On the contrary, we stood with them in the time of crisis and gave them the option of work from home (wherever possible) to take care of their health and family. Now that the pandemic is behind us, we look forward with hope and positivity to grow and propel together to make strides to achieve all that we lost during the lockdown quarter. What is the company’s growth strategy over the next 3-5 years? We have invested in technology and people and have all the necessary resources that would enable to take leaps in near future. We are looking forward to bringing some really innovative products that would bring in international experience to the Indian consumers at affordable cost.
