BSIL was established in 1961 by Mr. Hargovind Bajaj for manufacturing of Double Roller Gins. When the Govt. of India launched Technology Mission on Cotton (TMC) in year 2000, BSIL upgraded its operation and was instrumental in providing all the machinery required for modernization of ginning factories in India which saved precious foreign exchange for country as no import of machinery was required for TMC rather India became the net exporter of cotton ginning machinery to various countries. In the year 2012 BSIL acquired sole license to manufacture all the machinery of Continental Eagle Corporation USA and complete manufacturing of Continental products was shifted to BSIL India by closing down USA factory of Continental which made BSIL, the largest manufacturer of cotton Bajaj Steel Industries Limited (BSIL) Nagpur India ginning machineries in the world. The export share in the BSIL turnover is about 50%. The BSIL has expanded its sales rapidly in the countries like USA, Australia, Brazil, Africa & CIS apart from India in the last 5 years. The success mantra of BSIL is “To provide the best integrated solutions to its customers in the cotton ginning & pressing sector and to expand its operation in other areas where the technological developments done during the process can be successfully provided”. What are the key products and services that the company offers? The BSIL is the one stop solution to provide all the required machinery, electrical, steel buildings and allied products to cotton ginning & pressing factories worldwide and now providing steel buildings as well as electrical panels etc. to other sectors such as fertilizer plants, spinning mills, warehouses etc. BSIL’s main products can be broadly categorized as 1. Complete range of machineries to cotton ginning & pressing factories for all the four ginning technologies used in the world i.e. Saw Gin, Double Roller Gin, Rotobar Gin & Single Roller Gin worldwide. 2. Electrical panels and accessories for diversified sectors like ginning plants, fertilizer plants, spinning plants and various other sectors. 3. Steel Buildings & Civil Buildings for Industrial requirements to various sectors including Cotton Ginning sector. 4. Firefighting Systems for Cotton Ginning & Pressing factories & other sectors. 5. Supply of Machined components, specialty conveyors, fabrication of machineries as per drawings for various sectors steel doors and industrial fans, What is the company’s growth strategy over the next 3-5 years? BSIL’s humble beginning was with a land area of about 4 acres, which has now spread to over 35 acres, and constructed factoryareahas increased from about 20000 sq. ft. to over 400000 sq. ft. and further expansion is going on. BSIL plans to scale up its existing divisions as well as expand in the other areas of its expertise such as Hydraulics, Transmission Products, Specialty Conveyors, Steel Doors, and Industrial Fans and scale them up and expect 20% year-on-year growth of turnover in next 3-5 years. The BSIL is also in the process to construct a corporate office of 37000 sq. ft. including for world-class design center and plans to construct 16 mtr.
