12 Experts' View Leading Mid-Corporates of India 2022 How would you describe the journey of your company since its inception? What are some of the key milestones of the company in recent years? Having an entrepreneurial mindset from a very young age, I joined with a couple of like-minded batch mates from college to set up a business, resulting in the inception of Aspire Systems in 1996. In the initial years,we soldan industrial engineering product but moved into the software development space considering that the former business model was not viable. In order to remain unique and differentiate ourselves from the competition, we transitioned into the outsourced product development sector, helping companies to build their software. Besides developing technology that created exceptional end-user experience for customers, it was important to meet the demands of frequent releases while demonstrating considerable adaptability. The company currently has over 4800 employees globally and is CMMI Level 3 certified, operating across the US, LATAM, UK, Europe, Middle East, India and Asia- Pacific. Aspire’s emerging technology focus leverages deep domain focus across Banking, FinTech, Retail, and Insurance to deliver innovative solutions using AI and ML, Cloud Solutions, IoT, RPA, Edge Computing and Blockchain that helps customers realize higher efficiencies, better decision-making capabilities and reduce costs. Key milestones 1996: Set up first office in Andheri, Mumbai. 2005: Launched Global Innovation Centre in Siruseri, Chennai. 2010: Employee strength grew to 500, and global offices in the UK, Chicago and UAE set up. 2019: Accomplished Mission $100 mn and commenced operations in Mexico, Poland, and the Netherlands. 2020: Set up ODC in Kochi. 2021: Recognized 12 consecutive times as 'Best Place to Work for' by GPW Institute 2022: We are at a headcount of 4800+ globally. What has been the success mantra of your company? We put equal focus on strategy and people, laying emphasis on engaging great talent with the right strategy for success. This is driven by strong people practices across a range of specializations. The outcomes of our initiatives are measured to assess alignment with organizational goals. We constantly review and upgrade our people practices including talent acquisition, talent management, learning and development , performance management, leadership development, compensation and benefits, and culture. Our culture is woven into our practices through our values, making any transition and adoption effortless. What is your company’s growth strategy for next 3-5 years? We are currently working towards our short-term goal of achieving USD 200 mn in revenues with our future-ready technology focus based on the cornerstones of agility, customer experience and operational excellence. In the long term, we are focusing on building a strong foundation for growth and will aim to double revenues in two ways. Organically, we will work towards increasing the depth and breadth of our domains and increasing revenue per customer. Inorganic growth will include expansion of our base through acquisitions. As a knowledge-oriented firm where value to customers is delivered by teams of employees, we will continue to invest in our employees, bringing direct and positive impact on our ability to serve our customers better.
