Established in 1900, Jeena & Company is today a trusted and reputed end-to-end logistics solution provider with a strong presence in 27 locations across India and a global reach across 7 continents with its own office in Australia. Jeena caters to all logistics and supply chain needs such as, door-to-door delivery, pick and pack, high-end projects, customs brokerage, 3PL and supply chain management. It serves awide rangeof industries that include automobiles, electronics, pharmaceuticals, retail, FMCG, chemicals, engineering, and renewable energy. As a project cargo partner, we successfully executed the movement of a Barge Loader from Nhava Sheva to Guinea, engaged in the logistics of live trees, and handled sensitive Jeena & Company Homi Katgara Partner defense items. In 2017, when the government of India enforced the concept of GST, Jeena’s systems were the first to automate this in the various customs processes. Be it as an appointed distributor to Serum Institute of India’s (SII’s) COVISHIELD vaccine deliveries for private hospital supplies across the country or as a part of the strategic collaboration for Asia’s first Drone based vaccine delivery project for the Telangana government, Jeena Criticare which is specialized in time and temperature-sensitive cargo handling rendered a pivotal role. The team worked very closely with ICMR in getting the COVID testing samples and essential medical supplies shipped during the first and second wave of COVID. Jeena has also been a crucial part of India’s export chain enabling healthcare in various countries by being appointed as the logistics partner for customers like the WHO (World Health Organization) and UNICEF. What challenges did your company face during the supply chain disruption? What modernization techniques did your company embrace to steer through the crisis? The Covid-19 lockdown had impacted the entire supply chain in such a way that in some parts of the world, the situation was gruesome. The global supply chain disruption brought in quite a lot of challenges for us operationally. Nevertheless, our relationship with overseas partners, airlines, and shipping lines played a pivotal role in mitigating the challenges associated with freight booking or availability of space. Seeing the immense potential of digital freight forwarders, Jeena & Company has engaged in strategic investments with some of the new players. Due to our digital capabilities, we were one of the first companies in India to promptly act on the severity of the Covid-19 situation and shift our operational model from work from office to remote working. During the strict lockdown in India, some of our people stepping out of their homes to render their duty had to undergo unpleasant experiences.
