17 Experts' View Leading Mid-Corporates of India 2022 How would you describe the journey of your company and key milestones of the company in recent years? FlyJac Forwarders Started its humble journey with a 5 member team in Mumbai during 1990, initiated by Mr. AS MADHAVAN & Mr. LALIT JOBAN PUTHRA to promote import consolidation. I joined Flyjac in 1991 to propel its growth impetus in South India, operating from Chennai. During 2008, the strategy was to position Flyjac as an ILSP, Integrated Logistic Service Provider to its customers and renamed Flyjac Forwarders as Flyjac Logistics. In 2010, to achieve its high ambitious plans and to expand its Global reach, Flyjac merged with Hitachi Transport System, the Logistics Division of the Global Conglomerate Hitachi. In 2012, HTS decided to Merge the Hitachi Transport System-India, with Flyjac Logistics Private Limited Ravi Kumar Managing Director & CEO Flyjac and retained Flyjac brand. Flyjac expanded its geographical coverage to the UAE during 2017, opening its first overseas office in Dubai. Today, Flyjac has 30 offices across India and the UAE, 3,500 plus employees, a turnover of more than INR 1,300 crores, and manages more than 4.5 million square feet of warehouse facilities in 81 locations. Flyjac has upgraded its entire IT systems to an “intelligent IT solutions platform” , for freight management, warehouse house management, transportation, customs clearance, finance management and human resource management. We are on a pedestal for integrating all these solutions for a seamless operationand complete visibility across the supply chain. We have also initiated Logistics Engineering Team and Business Excellence Team to boost our operational efficiency and accuracy. Currently our strategy is to become a fully Integrated Logistics Solution Partner . In India, to create world class warehousing infrastructure, a new concept of creating a large Multipurpose Logistics Centres (MPLC) is initiated. To achieve this objective, Flyjac has already acquired 22 acres of land to construct 5lac sqft MPLC in Mumbai, 32 acres of land in Chennai with 4lac sqft warehouse and constructing another 3lac sqft which will be ready by October 2023. Efforts are on for developing 2 more MPLCs, one in Bangalore & one Delhi of substantial sizes. Flyjac has developed its transportation infrastructure and capabilities, is in the process of further development through aggressive Organic Growth as well as looking for M&A option. What has been the success mantra of your company? Flyjac had a very clear philosophy from its inception, namely customer delight, self-development, and social welfare. We have built a culture and continued nurturing it so that every person is fully aware of the philosophy and works towards achieving it. Every office across India starts the day with a prayer in which the philosophy is repeated. Due to our customer centric approach, we have been able to retain most of our customers all along our journey. We currently serve more than 5000 customers, including 300 plus corporate customers with whom we have shared a relationship for more than 10 years. Flyjac believe that each individual has unique potential, and we provide them all support and opportunities to grow to their fullest potential.
