METHODOLOGY ‘Leading SMEs of India 2020’ is a joint initiative by Dun & Bradstreet and American Express Banking Corporation for recognizing the leading small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in India. is edition of publication provides listings of ~7500 SME business- es and pro les of 500 leading SMEs across various sectors. Eligibility Criteria SMEs are de ned as businesses with FY19 standalone annual turnover between Rs. 50 mn – 2,500 mn. e companies that are purely into trading activity and lending activities are not eligible. Shortlisting Process Dun & Bradstreet has used the nancial information available in secondary sources such as Ministry of Corporate A airs, Exchange Websites and other reliable Government websites. Dun & Bradstreet has also reached out to SMEs across the country through multiple channels such as email campaign, online medium, industry associations and councils, Dun & Bradstreet’s internal database, etc. rough this process, we have sought nancial details of SMEs for the past 3 nancial years through annual reports, audited statements, etc. Dun & Bradstreet used a proprietary model (employ- ing a combination of quantitative and qualitative parameters) to analyze various details available and to shortlist the list of ‘pro led’ and ‘Listed’ companies.
