Considering the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, how has your company leveraged new-age technologies to ensure business continuity? (You may share details of your engagement with AWS here) Covid-19 pandemic was an uncalled situation, which every company has gone through. There is not a single company that has not been affected by it in some or other ways. Thankfully we were able to turn around much fasters. Due to IT being a very integral part of our manufacturing and distribution process, Amazon AWS played a very important role in this whole turnaround process. Firstly we are on 100% AWS Cloud since 2015, due to this our downtime is 0%. As soon as WFH was decided, we were able to get our infrastructure set up in minutes for all our global employees. As we were one of the essential business, we had to keep our distribution centers and plants working at a certain capacity. AWS allowed us to achieve zero interruption and smooth workflow without compromising our security. Kindly elaborate on your company’s service implementation process. What were the outcomes of this process? Our association with AWS started in 2013 with making our first DR site. By mid-2015, we not only migrated our production on to AWS but were 100% on the AWS cloud. Moving helped us in three ways. 1- Bringing our Cost down on Total IT Infrastructure due to pay as you go model. 2- 100% uptime and security 3- Scalability when necessary. Starting with 30 Servers, now we are at 70+ servers on AWS and using various server-less services offered by AWS. This intrigued us to explore more services and work on cutting edge technology like ML, AI, and IIOT. For a company like ours to become IT independent which is considered an achievement, would not have existed without AWS.
