Leading SMEs of India 2021

7 ‘Leading SMEs of India 2021’ is an initiative by Dun & Bradstreet for recognizing the leading small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in India. This edition of the publication provides listing of ~7500 SME businesses and profiles of 500 leading SMEs across various sectors. Apart from this publication, Dun & Bradstreet also felicitated leading SMEs in India across various award categories through its virtual event titled ‘Business Enterprises of Tomorrow 2021’ . This edition of awards has recognized 12 SME winners across various sectors and theme-based categories. The various sectors include Auto Components, Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals, Education & Health Services, Electrical & Electronic Goods, Engineering & Machinery, Food Processing & Agro products, IT & IT enabled Services, Professional & Business Services, Textiles & Garments and Transportation & Logistics. Further, the initiative also recognizes success stories in the theme- based categories such as Best Global Business and Best Woman Entrepreneur. The Awards, in conjunction with the publication ‘Leading SMEs of India 2021’ , acknowledges and highlights the achievements of leading Indian SMEs in their respective categories. Eligibility Criteria Small and medium enterprises are defined as companies with FY20 annual turnover between ` 5 Crore – ` 250 Crore. The companies that are purely into trading activity and lending activities are not eligible. Shortlisting Process • Dun & Bradstreet has reached out to SMEs across the country through multiple channels such as email campaign, online medium, industry associations and councils, Dun & Bradstreet’s internal database, etc. • Dun & Bradstreet has also used the financial information available in secondary sources such as Ministry of Corporate Affairs, ExchangeWebsites and other reliable Government websites. • Through this process, we have sought financial details of SMEs for FY20, FY19 and FY18 through annual reports, audited statements, etc. In addition to financial information, companies were requested to provide qualitative information in the form of presentations, certifications, client testimonials and other documents to ‘Make their Own Case’ for excellence. • Dun &Bradstreet used a proprietary model (employing a combination of quantitative and qualitative parameters) to analyze various details available and to shortlist the list of ‘profiled’, ‘listed’ and ‘probable winners’ across various award categories. Selection of Award Winners The shortlisted probable winners were duly evaluated by an eminent panel of industry leaders and experts at a jury meeting. The final award winners were selected by the jury panel on the basis of multiple factors of excellence, during their discussion, and were agreed upon by mutual consensus. The publication, ‘Leading SMEs of India 2021’ , profiles 500 leading SMEs including 12 SME award winners, who have demonstrated consistent performance in the past three financial years (FY20, FY19 and FY18). Profiles of these businesses comprise of their line of business and other basic information. These companies are featured in a section titled “Profiled SMEs” . Profiles of the award winners comprise their business operations and notable achievements that will serve as an inspiration to other aspiring entrepreneurs. Astandardized format hasbeenused for reporting information received by the companies. Each company featured in the publication has been allotted a unique identification number (D-U-N-S® - Data Universal Numbering System). This will help readers locate and obtain full-fledged information reports on these companies from the Dun & Bradstreet database. This publication, ‘Leading SMEs of India 2021’ and the awards are tributes to the SME sector acknowledging the resilient performance of the SME sector in today’s volatile economy. This, we believe, will encourage other emerging SMEs to showcase their contribution by their active participation in our future editions.
