It has been a roller coaster ride. Spectrum was started as a proprietary company in 1995 to help and support the Indian pharmaceutical industry trying to cope up with the GMP guidelines from Various International Regulatory authorities. From modest beginnings, today Spectrum is a full-service pharmaceutical consulting company, serving Indian pharmaceutical industry set up facilities right from concept to validation. In recent years, we have spread our wings outside the country and have provided our services to companies in over 25 countries. Today we have Joint Ventures in Thailand and Sri Lanka to cater to the growing market in ASEAN region and Sri Lanka. We are now developing a Pharma Manufacturing Zone of about 100 acres in Sri Lanka We have exclusive marketing representatives in Egypt, Algeria, and Bangladesh. This project was delivered as a complete Turnkey basis right from site selection to qualification What are some of the innovative initiatives taken by your company in recent years? How have those initiatives helped your organization? From being a pure design-engineering firm, we have in recent years grown to provide pre and post project services like market survey, feasibility studies, qualification & validation services, complete documentation services etc. We are now a complete Design-Build EPC Consultant providing turnkey project solution. Pharmaceutical industry like IT is an extremely knowledge-based industry. A pharmaceutical plant cannot be designed and engineered like any other heavy engineering or infrastructure project. It requires specialized knowledge of GMP guidelines and manufacturing processes. At Spectrum, we have always emphasized on updating knowledge and being knowledgeable about the current trends in manufacturing processes, contamination control, containment technologies etc. We spend a lot to time, energy, and money in keeping ourselves updated and sharing such knowledge across all levels in the company. What are some of the key factors that differentiates your company from its peers? / What are the factors that give you an edge over your peers? We have always emphasized on knowledge upgradation by learning and sharing. Today, Spectrum is recognized as a consultant of choice for projects requiring understanding of complex technologies like Vaccines, Oncology, Hormones, Biologics etc. Today Spectrum is known for its highest standards for Environment, Health & Safety to deliver the Safe Workplaces & Energy Efficient facilities complying with Green Initiatives which is need of the day. We were one the earliest engineering firms in the MSME sector to embrace REVIT as preferred software for all drawings which is a 3D drawing platform. Today we provide not just design and engineering but complete Design-Build i.e. EPC services across the globe. While there are other companies that provide turnkey project solutions, for them it is more like being a contractor.
