53 Experts' View Leading SMEs of India 2021 How would you describe the journey of your company since its inception? What are some of the key milestones of the company in recent years? In early 90s, the shortage of Citizen Centric IT solutions was prevailing and this very opportunity was realized by us and thereafter the stepping stones were taken eventually leading to the establishment of ABM Knowledgeware Ltd. in 1998 as an IT solution provider company. This journey began with two projects for the Maharashtra Government which was successfully delivered. Today, ABM has marked itself in 23 states. The bigger states you count, we have already reached there. This is so because of sustainability and delivering our e-government related projects with proper execution in the pre-existing challenging environment in those States. There has been a 10-fold increase in Citizen Engagement across 1100+ Urban Local Bodies PAN India within a decade. Our forte is creating Digital Municipalities and hence, making ‘Digital India’ on real ground. Now, ABM has expanded its horizon by entering into Cyber Security segment and did strategic investment in ‘Instasafe Technologies Pvt. Ltd. It has now become a subsidiary of ABM and a ‘ABM Group Company’. ABM KNOWLEDGEWARE Ltd is a software and services company (BSE 531161 on Bombay Stock Exchange) focused on delivering e-Government solutions and serving many States in India. E-Governance, SAP Services and Cybersecurity are our key products/ services. ABM is rated as a Category Leader in the e-Municipality segment of India with over 1100+ Municipal Bodies as its customers spread across various states. Open Source technologies for our products embedded with our domain expertise, SAP HANA, 5D BIM, Mobility, Cloud are some of our core areas. In addition, we have undertaken initiatives in intuitive and niche services like AI, ML, RPA, Blockchain, to name a few. Our project portfolio includes all variants of IT projects viz. Greenfield implementation, Brownfield Implementation, Transformation initiatives, Rollouts, Upgrades, AMS & ADM, Cloud initiatives, and sustenance strategies, to name a few. ABM has recently forayed into Digital Project Management System also. What is your company’s growth strategy for next 3-5 years? ABM will grow its market share in the segment of Urban Reforms where ABM is undisputed leader with over 25% market share in e-Municipality. This will open up opportunities for many adjacent business opportunities. ABM is evaluating entry into US market by acquiring a small startup in the space of AI-Data Analytics for leveraging exponential growth in the Digital Technologies as well as an effort to de-risk single Geo operations of ABM. The Cybersecurity subsidiary will be supported to the possible extent to help them enter into US market so that the investment done by ABM appreciates considerably.
