THE JOURNEY SO FAR : Established at Baroda in 1987, Cosmos was initially a sales and service organization, marketing cutting tools and local brand machines, thus providing technological solutions to industries in Gujarat to aid their growth and advancement. With the emergence of CNC technology globally in the early nineties, Cosmos ventured in 1993 into import of most advanced CNC Machines from Taiwan. Over a period of time, Cosmos sourced a complete basket of CNC Machine Tools and Accessories to offer cutting edge solutions for diverse machining applications. A pan India network of Sales and Service offices at 18 locations was set up to provide prompt pre sales and after sales response to customers. In the year 1997, a component manufacturing division was set up to produce precision components and also show case the capabilities of the imported machines range. With the development of a strong customer base and in house technological expertise, the time was ripe to get into manufacturing of CNC Machines and accessories. The “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” campaigns spearheaded by the government of India served as strong catalysts to scale up the manufacturing activity. Cosmos established 3 joint ventures and 2 technology transfer agreements with global leaders. A brand new state of the art manufacturing facility is being set up with a capacity of 3000 machines per annum. Separate hi tech facilities for manufacture of accessories like Turrets, Rotary tables and Automatic Tools Changers have also been set up. THE TEAM : The core team at Cosmos has been in the Machine Tool Industry for more than 30 years and are focused on continual development and upgradation. At the shop floor level are close to 400 technicians who have deliberately been taken from the nearby villages, thus creating local employment and livelihood opportunities and touching the lives of the local populace. Intense training is provided to these locals at the in house training institute to develop their skills for machine manufacturing.
