25 Experts' View Leading SMEs of India 2022 How would you describe the journey of your company since its inception? What are some of the key milestones of the company in recent years? Jay Storage Solutions, since its inception, has focused on product & solution innovations as its core strength. This journey of continual improvements & look-out-for non- conventional systems has not only been gratifying but has also proved to be our main pillar of strength. With very humble beginning of the parent group company we started from a small workshop with handful of teammates, to now a large manufacturing unit that employees 100+ staff. In the past 3-4 years, we have been in expansion of manufacturing facility, with State-of-the-art laser cutting machines, Robotic welding, bringing in new products in the INDIAN Jay Storage Solutions Private Limited Premal Karelia Managing Director market, that have been previously not accessible. We will continue to invest in Human resource & in modern machineries. The key milestones would be moving to new factory, offices, investments in modern IT system, laser cutting machines,anewpowder coatingplant, forging new alliance with European companies to bring non-conventional products to India and last but not least breaking into international markets. What are some of the key products / services offered by the company? Our motto is : making logistics lives better. Hence, our Racking product portfolio is designed keeping our motto in mind. Some of the key products arePallet Racking,Mezzanine Floors, Multitier Shelving, Bolts Free Systems, Cantilever Systems, Mobile Pallet Racking, ASRS Racking, etc. However, keeping with times we have now forayed into semi & fully automated systems. Radio shuttle system is now our top selling product. The system is widely used in cold stores and FMCG warehouses where each SKU’s can have large quantities but are palletized. The system enables 60% to 70% increase in storage capacity than standard racking as it eliminates need for aisle space. Apart from racking, we also offer services to customer in terms of AMC’s for annual maintenance of racks, Rack safety audits, Rack repairs etc. At present this are optional services that customers may opt for. However, in keeping with the current trends of the Logistics Policy in place some of these services will be mandated by law. What role has technology / digital transformation played in transforming your organization? The most important transformation using technology and digitization has come in the way of enhanced customer experience. Our sales team now aremore connected to customers by way of Video calls. There has been wide spread acceptance of this & this has resulted in increased customer satisfaction. The use of ‘CRM’ has helped with better response time to customers, keeping the teams updated and connected to various departments, providing data and insights of customer requirements. On the manufactur ing f ront , digitization has increased production, precision and enhanced process. We are in a process to adapt & implement machines that are industry 4.0 ready. We are able to produce more and hence resulted in quicker deliveries. Human errors are eliminated which in turn has provided for consistent quality. Dun & Bradstreet
