206 | Leading SMEs of India 2023 [ METHODOLOGY ] ‘Leading SMEs of India 2023’ is a Dun & Bradstreet initiative that recognizes and honors India’s leading small and medium enterprises (SMEs). This edition of the publication provides listing of 4,000 SME companies across multiple industry segments to acknowledge and highlight their major achievements. Apart from this, Dun & Bradstreet also felicitated leading SMEs across industry and theme awards – Business Excellence Awards 2023. Eligibility Criteria SMEs aredefinedas companieswithFY22standalone annual turnover between INR 5 Crore – 250 Crore. The companies that are purely into trading activity are not eligible. Shortlisting Process • Dun&Bradstreet has reachedout to SMEs across the country through multiple channels such as email campaign, online medium, industry associations and councils, Dun & Bradstreet’s internal database, etc. • Dun & Bradstreet has also used the financial information available on secondary sources such as Ministry of Corporate Affairs, exchange websites, and other reliable Government websites. • Through this process, we have sought financial details of SMEs for FY22, FY21, and FY20 through annual reports, audited statements, etc. In addition to the financial information, companies were requested to provide qualitative information in the form of presentations, certifications, client testimonials and other documents to ‘Make their Own Case’ for excellence. • Dun & Bradstreet used a proprietary model (employing a combination of quantitative and qualitative parameters) to analyze various details available and have ‘listed’ leading SMEs of India, together with analysis of companies for ‘business excellence awards’ for industry & theme-based categories. Selection of Business Excellence Award Winners The shortlisted companies were duly evaluated by an eminent panel of industry and experts at a jury meeting. The final award winners were selected by the jury panel on the basis of multiple factors including quantitative and qualitative and were agreed upon by mutual consensus. The publication, ‘Leading SMEs of India 2023’, profiles 14 SME award winners across industry and theme based categories. The profiles of the award winners comprise their business operations and notable achievements that will serve as an inspiration to other aspiring entrepreneurs. These companies are featured in a section titled “Profiles of Award Winners”. Award Winners profiled in the publication has been allotted a unique identification number (D-U-N-S ® - Data Universal Numbering System). This will help readers locate and obtain full-fledged information reports on these companies from the Dun & Bradstreet database. This publication and the awards are tributes to the SME sector acknowledging the resilient performance in today’s volatile economic environment. This, we believe, will encourage other emerging SMEs to showcase their contribution through their active participation in our future editions.
