Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and Mid-Corporates have emerged as a highly vibrant and dynamic sector of the Indian economy over the last five decades. They are major contributors to India’s economic growth, contributing to about 30% of the GDP and accounting for 90% of all operating businesses in the country. They provide employment and livelihoods to more than 110 million people and contribute significantly in the economic and social development of the country by fostering entrepreneurship and generating large employment opportunities at comparatively lower capital cost, next only to agriculture. With the Government pushing for a self-reliant India, SMEs and Mid-Corporates are carving their path towards becoming the "Business Enterprises of Tomorrow".
