Since independence, Central and State Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) have played a major role for all round economic and social development of the country. PSUs have been the frontrunners in supporting the Government by providing necessary industrial and financial assistance for India’s growth. Further, key sectors like Petroleum (Refinery & Marketing), Coal, Crude Oil, Steel and Electricity (Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution) have contributed immensely for the country’s GDP growth.

Theme: Gearing for Amrit kaal

The government vision for ‘Amrit kaal’ includes technology driven and knowledge-based economy with strong public finances and a robust financial sector. The agenda for achieving this vision focuses on facilitating opportunities for citizens, impetus to growth and job creation and strengthening macro-economic stability. To build a more resilient and future-ready economy, Indian PSUs play a critical role in strengthening the economy by focusing on transforming it through modernizing systems, processes, and approaches.
