Dun & Bradstreet India hosts ‘Supply Chain Finance Awards 2019’

Mumbai, 30 May 2019: Dun & Bradstreet (D&B), the world’s leading provider of global business information, honored the leading performers of India’s Supply Chain Finance sector at the ‘Dun & Bradstreet Supply Chain Finance Awards 2019.’

Dun and Bradstreet India presented a total of 12 awards across sectors such as automobiles, FMCG, cement, food and agro processing, healthcare & pharma, textiles, etc. (full list below).

Key insights from the event:

• Supply Chain finance in India is much less than 1% of our GDP
• Anchor companies which account for ~10% of the firms in the supply chain finance
  ecosystem can benefit the remaining ~90% of firms which are MSMEs
• 1 in every 5 large companies pays its suppliers only after 90 days beyond due date
• Only 4% of MSMEs have access to formal source of finance

Manish Sinha, Managing Director, Dun & Bradstreet – India said, “There is a huge value in Supply Chain Financing, which could result in a massive 50% drop in the cost of working capital. The initiators of it have to be the large companies and it helps in the growth of net sales. Implementing Supply Chain Financing also benefits the smaller companies in a big way. However, if the large companies don’t do it, it raises the cost of financing so much, that it cripples the entire system."
