New Delhi, 22 August 2019: Dun & Bradstreet (D&B), the world’s leading provider of global business information, recognised the stellar role played by Indian PSUs (Public Sector Undertakings) in the socio-economic development of the country at the annual ‘PSU Awards 2019’. Dun and Bradstreet India presented a total of 35 awards across sectors such as power, fertilizers, engineering, oil & gas, steel, and financial services. The winners were selected by D&B’s propriety model, based on several parameters such as total income, profitability, industry overview and more (full list of winners below).
The event also witnessed the showcasing of the 12th edition of Dun & Bradstreet India’s annual publication titled, India’s Top PSUs 2019’ - a compendium featuring a comprehensive listing of central PSUs across the country.
Manish Sinha, Managing Director, Dun and Bradstreet India said, ‘‘In the years since independence, Government-Owned Enterprises (GOEs) have played an important role in our country, specifically in two areas: they have provided balanced regional development and have played an important role in equitable redistribution of wealth and income. To achieve the target of making India a US$ 5 trillion economy, the government would like the GOEs to play a bigger role by increasing their contribution to 10% of GDP from the current level of 5%.’’
